1. Accepting imperfections takes less energy than chasing perfection. These days trying to be perfect can range from changing your look to even going under the knife. All of this comes at a cost and with extreme effort. Embracing your imperfections gives you more peace of mind, more money in your wallet, and a better sense of who you are as a person.
2. Self confidence is sexier than faking it. When a person tries to hide their flaws by being fake, this can come off as being insecure. Hold your head up high and let the world know you are happy with yourself as you are. You’d be surprised how attractive a person is when they have an air of self confidence surrounding them.
3. Your imperfections make you unique. It may sound like a theme from an after school special, but it’s true. We’re all different and imperfections are yet another way to remind us that we are unlike any other person on this planet (unless you happen to have a twin!).
4. Being positive about your imperfections can bring about a fresher outlook on your life overall. Refusing to dwell on why you hate your imperfections (whatever they may be) is a great way to become more positive in your life. Looking on the brighter side of your imperfections will ultimately lead you to look at life as a whole in a more positive way.
5. Chances are, it’s all in your head. The funny thing about imperfections is that oftentimes we’re the only ones that know they exist. The saying, “we are our own worst critics” is definitely true when it comes to this. Don’t give in to your inner critic!
6. Imperfections can be beautiful. Who says imperfections have to be viewed negatively? Cindy Crawford is considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, yet she has a crooked smile. Owen Wilson is one of the hottest guys in Hollywood, despite his broken nose.
7. Embracing your imperfections means never accepting defeat. The problem with trying to be perfect is that ultimately it can’t be achieved, resulting in dealing with feelings of failure or inadequateness. However, taking your imperfections as they are means that you’ve succeeded in being true to yourself.
8. Loving your imperfections allows you to practice what you preach. The cool thing about loving yourself, flaws and all, means you can easily spread this wealth of knowledge to your friends, family and other loved ones to help them see the beauty within themselves.
9. Loving your imperfections makes waking up each day a lot easier. It’s no fun to roll out of bed each morning and hate what you see in the mirror. Start each day off right by giving yourself a good once-over the mirror and reveling in every inch that is you.
10. Perfection doesn’t exist so why pressure yourself? No explanation needed for this one!
