The results for 2009 are in: the must-have swimsuits for this year include bright, vivid colors, non traditional styles, accessorizing, and mixing and matching. In the past, many women have played it safe with regular colors such as black, white, and certain prints. However, for 2009 it’s all about standing out from the crowd - literally. This year opt for a swimsuit in bright blues, reds, purples, yellows, greens, and oranges. The brighter, the better! Such colors make a huge impact in a swimsuit and can make a statement all its own without much effort. Be sure to choose a color that goes great with your skin tone.
We all know there are various styles of swimsuits out there, such as bikinis, monokinis, and one pieces. For 2009, the latest trend involves the cut away style. This particular spin has made one piece swimsuits hotter than the tiniest bikini. With large cut out areas - usually on the sides or in the mid-section - cut away swimsuit styles bring sexy to a whole new level. Just about every swimsuit designer alive now has a cut away style so finding the right one for you won’t be a challenge.
Another trend to follow for 2009 is accessorizing your swimsuit. Chunky jewelry, necklaces, handbags, sunglasses, hats, and other types of accessories are ideal for creating an outfit out of your swimwear. These days it isn’t just about wearing the swimsuit in the water - many now choose to wear their bathing suits as a fashion statement. This is especially popular for those that prefer to sun bathe instead of actually getting wet. By adding such accessories you can create a style that is truly your own, even if someone else happens to have the same swimsuit as you - which hopefully doesn’t end up happening!
In addition to snazzing up a swimsuit with accessories, it is also trendy to make your swimsuit a part of your wardrobe. The more ways you can wear your swimsuit, the more use you can get out of it during the summer. Some popular examples of mixing and matching your swimsuit into your wardrobe includes wearing a tunic or dress (sheer is best) on top of your swimsuit. This turns your swimsuit into a dressy fashion statement during times when you don’t plan on getting wet. Or you can add a fun long, flowing skirt over your bottoms and sport just your swimsuit top with a bevy of accessories. This combination of beach wear and everyday summer wear is ideal for shopping, hanging out at the beach, getting together for an outdoor luncheon, or get together.
