If you regularly log in less than 6-5 hours of sleep a night, chances are this form of wear and tear has already started showing up on your face. As difficult as it may be to squeeze in the right amount of sleep each night, failure to do so means that you’ll continue to fight with dark under eye circles, puffiness, and bags. Even the time you go to bed can affect how you feel and look in the morning. Your quality of sleep will improve once you start going to bed at a decent hour. Going to bed too late or even too early can throw off your body’s clock, causing you to toss and turn, disrupting your sleep for the night.
Sometimes even getting enough hours of sleep may not be enough to put your complexion in the best light when you wake up. However, there are steps you can follow and products you can add to your beauty routine to make waking up and looking in the mirror one of your favorite parts of the day. There are a variety of nighttime beauty treatments that are available both online and in your local store. These range from special moisturizers to soothing and cooling eye serums. If you’re having issues with dark under eye circles, bags or puffiness, you may want to look into a good quality eye product that will improve the circulation and condition of your eye area while you sleep, allowing you to wake up with less to worry about. However, it is important to apply the serum or cream sparingly. Putting too much on the area can contribute to the problem because of an increase in water build up around the area at night. Aromatherapy is also another way to help you settle in and go to bed in a good mood so that you can wake up the same way. Lavender in particular is one way to get a good night’s sleep. You can buy a variety of lavender products to use before going to bed, including candles, massage oils, sleep masks, pillowcases, and moisturizers.
What you wear to bed can even affect the state of your sleep and the impact it has on your complexion. Do you find yourself tossing and turning, rubbing your eyes, and unable to achieve a sound sleep? It may have to do with what you’re wearing. Breathable cotton nighttime wear is ideal for getting a good night’s rest. When your body is comfortable and your skin can breathe, you’ll be able to wake up feeling great from head to toe.
