Make Your Jewelry and Hairstyle Work Together

Make Your Jewelry and Hairstyle Work TogetherYou may have a lot of fashionable jewelry but if you don’t match it to the right hairstyle, your efforts won’t pay off. Of course it doesn’t take an expert to know how to accurately match the right jewelry design to the right hairstyle. With these helpful tips you’ll be able to coordinate wisely and pull off an attention-grabbing look each time.

The idea behind making your hair and jewelry work together is to create a balance. Certain hairstyles create focus on certain areas of the face, head, or neck. The same goes with jewelry. The type of hair you have will also dictate what type of jewelry you should wear. Hair length is one factor that plays a part. If you happen to have very short hair, such as a pixie cut, you’ll want to opt for jewelry items that won’t make your facial features seem too pronounced. Jewelry for shorter hair should be simple and elegant. However, if you want to try something different, you can go for a set of bold earrings, but make sure the shape and design complements your facial features. Women with shorter hair tend to have more prominent features so make sure you have a good balance. Because short cuts also makes the eyes stand out, try matching your earrings with your eye color to create a wonderful harmony.

For those with longer hair, such as shoulder length or even chin length, finding suitable jewelry options will be much easier, since these lengths tend to work with any type of necklace or set of earrings. In terms of hair color, it helps to use jewelry in shades that work with your hair color. Redheads should go for aquamarine and greens, while brunettes can choose from deep and bold colors such as reds, purples, and blues. Blonde hair looks best with diamonds or a color that matches their eyes (blues, greens, and hazel/browns).

If you decide to wear your hair down, then you’ll want to finish off the look with a pair of hoop or chandelier earrings that can easily be seen through your tresses instead of small earrings or studs, which would only get lost among your hair. If you want the focus to be on your jewelry and not so much your hair, pull it back into a ponytail or bun. Any updo will call for long, dangling earrings, which will create a balanced appearance. Updo hairstyles also call for attention-grabbing necklaces to show off your décolleté area. In this style situation, you can go bolder with the necklace but if you have your hair down, you may just want to accentuate the area with a thin, simple necklace.

For hairstyles that are super curly, you’ll want to contrast your accessories accordingly with a style of earrings that are straight in design and create fluid lines. Wearing a pair of super curly and curved earrings with a curly hairstyle will only make it blend into your hair instead of stand out. The same goes for super straight, sleek strands. Choose a pair of earrings with an intricate or fancy design to break up your bone-straight strands.
