Choosing between Bright Makeup & Light Makeup

Choosing between Bright Makeup & Light MakeupWhen choosing between light makeup and bright makeup, the choices may not seem so easy. When it comes to makeup looks, it’s not only about the colors but your style as well. Your lifestyle and common hangouts can also make a difference in the type of makeup you should wear. It’s important to take all factors into account and with some practice you’ll be able to master the ability to decide which look will suit you the best.

One easy way to help you decide between bright or light makeup is to think of it in terms of the difference between day makeup and evening makeup. The difference between these two has to do with the difference in lighting and how certain colors appear on your complexion. Think of light makeup looks as colors you would wear during the daytime to places such as school, work, or while out running errands. If you’re the type of person who likes to keep things simple or if you aren’t a huge fan of makeup, light makeup will suit you best. This type of look includes colors such as gold, brown, silver and even green. When paired with clear gloss and a touch of mascara, you can look like a knockout with little to no effort. You can turn to light makeup for just about any daytime event, even formal occasions. Bright makeup tends to stick out like a sore thumb during the day so it is best to have lighter over brighter in this instance.

Just as you can think of light makeup as day makeup, you can see bright makeup as evening makeup. It may seem confusing at first but darker eye and lip colors can be seen as “bright” makeup because in nighttime surroundings these darker hues can actually brighten your complexion and make your face stand out - in a good way. Deep reds, grays, and bronzes are great for bright makeup looks that you can wear to a special dinner, partying at a club, or any other evening event. When it comes to bright makeup, it’s okay to be more dramatic with your colors than usual but don’t go overboard. Also take into account what outfit you’ll be wearing as well as accessories.

Your wardrobe and lifestyle will also help you determine whether you’re more of a light makeup girl or a bright makeup girl. In order to pull off a complete look, your makeup - whether it’s bright or light - should complement your clothing and accessories. It also depends on where you spend most of your days and or evenings. If you hold down a steady office job for example, then chances are you’ll be able to play around with various light makeup looks to reflect your more conservative office attire. In such environments, you’ll more than likely be wearing fewer accessories than you would at a club so keep small details like that in mind. Are you a party girl who likes to socialize and always has her calendar filled with events and get togethers? Then you’ll have a ball matching your various out-on-the-town wardrobe with bright makeup colors for your eyes, lips, and cheeks. Learn how to make your accessories and outfit work with your makeup choices and you’ll have no problem standing out in a crowd.
