How to Make Gold Work for You

How to Make Gold Work for YouThe biggest craze in color it seems is gold, and why not? Gold can warm you up instantly and give you a healthy glow from head to toe. Gold can easily suit just about anyone and with our gold loving guide we can show you how you can easily make it work for you.

Body

An all over glow may be just what you need to feel sexy and glamorous to get you in the mood for some summer fun. If tanning beds aren’t for you, try faking a golden tan. In the past tanning products came out orange and unnatural looking, but today’s tanning products can give you the tan you’ve always dreamed of without the orange mess. If you’re still not sure or simply want a little extra golden glow, try a gold body shimmer or lotion to get you in the glowing mood. Keep in mind that body glimmers and lotions should be left to a night out or at least away from the work place. Too much glow can make your co-workers and boss squint and run in the other direction.

Face

If you not extremely pale, you can pull off wearing a bronzing powder on your face. Try wearing it over your foundation or alone to highlight your natural beauty. Using it sparingly however, too much of a good thing can make you look unnatural. If you’re more on the pale side, try a shimmering powder instead and apply it in the same manner as the bronze powder.

Eyes

Want to bring out the color of your eyes? Sweep a peachy gold shadow across your lids, followed by a coat of mascara for a daytime look or try a creamy gold with several coats of mascara for nighttime. Both of these looks are really gorgeous on blue and green eyes.

Lips

If you have olive or dark skin, a gold gloss will look fabulous on your skin tone. Try coating the lips with a brown or nude lipstick and apply the gold gloss over your lipstick. Even if you don’t have olive or dark skin, you can make this look work for you by applying a pinkish nude lipstick to your lips and then dabbing a pale gold to the center of your lips.

Nails

If you love the look of a French manicure, try tipping your nails with gold instead of white and a clear top coat instead of pink or neutral. A gold French manicure can work for anyone!

Hair

If you’re a gold fanatic and are willing to go all out for gold, you may want to try a gold highlighting kit for your hair. Highlighting kits can be as simple as giving your hair a summer kissed look or give your hair a streak of temporary gold color. If you do decide to highlight your hair, remember that bleaching is not a simple process. You’re better off leaving this part up to a hair coloring professional. If the thought of a permanent gold makes you uneasy, try investing in a simple gold headband instead.

No matter how you decide to wear your gold, keep in mind that unless it’s something as simple as a headband, you should probably try these ideas somewhere away from work. And finally, a lot of gold can easily become a disaster if you’re not careful! Remember -A little gold goes a long way!
