With summer here, women everywhere are already geared up but what about the guys? You don’t have to be a fashion or beauty expert to know what must have items just about every man should have. Most of the items are simply common sense but as we all know, sometimes common sense just isn’t common enough.

Needless to say the number one must have item for men is sunscreen. It doesn’t matter if you’re out in the sun constantly or if you’re just running errands around town. Even sitting in your car for extended periods of time exposes your skin to the harsh UV rays so it helps to be prepared. Pack a small bottle of sunscreen at all times. Want to take your sun care further? Then get a moisturizer that also contains SPF. You’ll be able to keep your skin protected and ensure that your complexion holds up great years from now.

Nothing says classic summer fella like the polo shirt. Lightweight, oh-so-comfortable and in an assortment of colors, patterns and fabrics, you can never have enough polo shirts stocked in your summer wardrobe. For something a little breezy and stylish, you can also toss in a few buttoned down shirts. In addition to polo shirts, make sure you’ve got a trusty pair of denim jeans and khaki shorts. These two items of clothing mixed and matched with polo shirts will have you looking crisp and fresh each time without putting a lot of effort or money into your wardrobe.

Every man should have a great and comfortable pair of stylish sandals and/or thongs. Flip flops may wear out fast but the good news is that they are super affordable so it helps to stock up on a bunch. As for sandals, take your time and make sure they are a good fit. Choose a color and style that will work no matter what outfit you’re wearing. You may want to opt for a pair that won’t get ruined when wet. Are your feet not quite summer pretty yet? Then you may want to make an appointment at the local salon to get a pedicure. You’d be surprised how many men admit enjoying the feel of having their feet pampered.

Just as you should protect your skin this summer with sunscreen, you also need to protect your eyes. Now is the time to invest in a stylish pair of summer sunglasses. It’s not just a fashion accessory, it’s an extra step in sun care. There are so many styles and shapes from designer to no-name brands, you can pick and choose just how many you want without breaking your wallet.

Plan on going for a dip this summer? Then you’ll want to include a pair of swim trunks or board shorts, according to your style preferences. Many designers have devoted their energy towards creating men’s swimwear that is comfortable, stylish and flattering. Have two to three on hand that you can wear throughout the summer.
