To Fight Wrinkles

Take Two of These And Call Me in the Morning

To Fight WrinklesThe claim that you can simply pop a pill and have fewer wrinkles has many laughing at what they presume to be the next great skincare hoax. There are a lot of them, due to the fact that the FDA doesn’t regulate skincare products or force companies to substantiate the sometime outlandish claims they freely make. While science may not be pounding on the door to get to the latest capsule, closer investigations clarify what some of these dietary supplements are promising and they may be onto something.

South Korean dermatologists have produced a formulation of vitamins C and E, pine bark and evening-primrose oil that actually turned out modest results in a study of 108 people who reported a 15% decrease in crow’s feet after 12 weeks as opposed to no visible or noticeable effects from the group who took a placebo for the same 12 weeks. Researchers say that the mixture of these ingredients (vitamins C and E, pine bark and evening-primrose oil) works because it blocks the proteins that destroy collagen while it increases natural collagen production. They also say that while you can’t buy the packaged product they used anywhere outside of Korea, you can take the ingredients separately and achieve the same results.

The wrinkle pill may not be so far from the truth when you consider that your skin gets its nourishment from the foods and supplements you eat. Poor nutrition is a leading cause of loose and wrinkled skin. Experts remind us that natural supplements work to keep your skin healthier and looking younger, aid in the fight against skin ailments such as acne, help to protect the skin from environmental pollutants, boost your immune system, and often have no harmful side effects.

Research shows that the amazing wrinkle-reducing pill may be no more than a power packed vitamin that we are likely already taking if we’re conscious of our health. The right combination of supplements is always important and you want to choose the best skin supplements on the market that are all-natural, and will give you all of the benefits mentioned above. Be sure your “wrinkle-reducing pill” has very little or no synthetic ingredients. Another approach to wrinkle reduction would be to increase your intake of the foods that are packed with vitamins C and E naturally and boost your body’s ability to absorb these vitamins by taking an all-natural supplement.

Not every company who claims they’ve got the wrinkle answer in a neat little tablet is going the all natural route. Some companies are battling for FDA approval to market their wares and continue to lose. Other companies claim to have an anti-wrinkle pill designed specifically for women and another to be taken only by men. Your best bet to date? Eat right and protect your skin from the sun.
