Try using garlic the next time you are suffering from one of these common beauty complaints:
Acne
Mix the juice of 2 cloves of garlic with an equal amount of white vinegar. Use a cotton ball to apply the mixture to affected area several times a day. This garlic vinegar acne treatment uses the antibiotic, antifungal, antiseptic and germicidal properties of garlic to fight the acne while its antioxidants help repair and protect the skin from free radical damage and help draw out infections. The vinegar balances your skin’s pH levels.
Cold Sores
The next time you are suffering from a cold sore, cut open a raw clove of garlic and apply it directly to the sore. The garlic juice will sting, but it will aid in healing the sore and making sure it does not get infected.
Psoriasis
Treat the red and itchy skin patches characteristic of psoriasis with garlic oil. Purchase garlic oil gel capsules full of oil at a health food store or online and simply poke a needle hole in the capsule and apply the oil liberally to the affected area.
Hair Loss
Garlic has been used as a natural hair loss treatment for ages. Use garlic oil on the area losing hair and cover overnight. Repeat this process for several weeks. Wash off the garlic oil in the morning.
Athlete’s Foot
Treat the itchy and unsightly fungal infection known as athlete’s foot with raw garlic. Mince a few raw cloves of garlic and cover the affected area with garlic and cover with gauze overnight. Wash your feet in the morning, and apply garlic oil on the affected area and cover with your sock. Repeat this process until the redness and itching has been gone for several days.
