Learning About Lip Enhancement Treatments

Learning About Lip Enhancement TreatmentsBecause not all of us had the fortune to be born with naturally gorgeous lips like Angelina Jolie, some women have to fake a fuller pout. While most turn to cosmetic lip enhancement procedures, there are also non-surgical means to getting fuller lips. Out of these alternatives, you’re bound to find one that works for you and lets you experience the lips that will be the envy of everyone.

For some time now, many women have turned to temporary injectable fillers to create plumper, fuller lips. Examples of the most common fillers include collagen, Autologous fat and restylane. The reason these fillers are only temporary is due to the fact that the fillers themselves eventually get absorbed into the body. However, even though the results don’t last forever, they will provide you with plumper lips for between 3-6 months before seeking another treatment. This process involves using a syringe to inject the material directly into the lips.

Of course there are permanent injectable fillers available for those who don’t want to deal with treatment after treatment. Metacrill, Aquamid and Artecoll are examples of popular permanent injectable fillers for the lips. Before considering this type of procedure, it is best to first participate in a trial process with the injectable material of choice prior to having the actual lip implant inserted. While permanent injectable fillers provide long-lasting results and a shorter recovery time, there are side effects. The most common include scars and uncomfortable lumps in the lips. If this doesn’t sound like a risk you’ll want to take, then you can opt for permanent lip implants that can be removed. These types of implants are inserted under the skin of the lips and are synthetic with a silicone type consistency.

A more complex procedure is the laser lip rejuvenation. This process involves using a special laser that helps to tighten the collagen and elastin beneath the lips. The laser lip rejuvenation is non-invasive and has a short recovery time. The results can last from a few weeks to a few months.

If you’d prefer a non-surgical approach, there is always the option of using a lip plumper. This cosmetic item has been popular for some time and can be purchased at any cosmetics store, grocery store or online. As the name implies, lip plumpers are used to create the illusion of fuller lips. Its ingredients cause the skin on the surface of the lips to swell slightly while also stimulating collagen production, resulting in a fuller and plumper appearance. Lip plumpers are the most affordable out of all the lip enhancement treatments and can be worn as clear gloss by itself or under lipstick. The effects are only temporary but the product can be used as needed.
