Pearl Laser Treatment

Pearl Laser TreatmentPearl Laser treatment (also known as Pearl) works by treating the epidermis with pulses of light with a technology called YSGG technology. A small area of the epidermis is removed with a controlled thermal effect, which causes the cells in the epidermis to coagulate and create a natural protective dressing. This natural protective dressing remains intact on the skin’s surface and begins to slough off in approximately 3-4 days. Pearl is used on the face and neck and helps stimulate the skin’s natural collagen production by sending heat to the dermis to fill out fine lines and wrinkles.

Pearl is ideal for patients who want to treat fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration from sun damage and uneven texture. A treatment session lasts approximately 15-20 minutes and requires 1-2 visits to a dermatologist. Compared to fractional treatment, Pearl treats the entire face at one time, which minimizes the need for various separate appointments. Patients have a downtime of 3-4 days, after which the natural protective dressing sloughs off to reveal newer, firmer, and more even tone skin. New collagen production continues for up to 4-6 weeks after a treatment session. Pearl is also less invasive and during the procedure, patients may experience some to little discomfort, comparable to slight pinching.
