Yet another group has stepped up to acknowledge the sacrifice of soldiers on the frontlines. This time it is the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). According to reports published online, the group recently announced its new initiative called “Faces of Honor”. The intention is to provide free surgery for wounded soldiers.
Donn Chatham, MD., president of the AAFPRS was quoted as saying of the program launch, “…we want to say `thank you` to this very special group of people and try to help in the best way we know how.” The new program will support existing veteran care facilities such as the VA.
