While digitally altering photos of models is nothing new, Ralph Lauren may have gone overboard with a recent touch-up. According to reports an altered photo of 23-year old model Filippa Hamilton gave the appearance that her head was bigger than her waist after the image was retouched to make her extra skinny.

After the photo appeared on the blog, Boing Boing, Ralph Lauren threatened a lawsuit. They quickly backed off after criticism poured in according to reports. The fashion house released a statement saying, “After further investigation, we have learned that we are responsible for the poor imaging and retouching that resulted in a very distorted image of a woman’s body.”

Hamilton is the face of the fragrance Romance by Ralph Lauren. She is of Swedish and French Heritage.
