Plastic surgery practitioners have scored another point for their often beleaguered profession. According to a paper presented at an industry meeting, blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery can positively affect someone’s quality of life.
The information was revealed at the 2009 American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF) Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO, held in San Diego. The procedure involves removing skin and fat from the eyelids to improve their appearance.
The data was gathered using a questionnaire called the Glasgow Benefit Inventory. People who underwent these procedures for non-cosmetic reasons were not involved in the survey.
